Topographical Overview

Snowbound Layout with Weapons & Equipment

Photobucket

Snowbound is a well-balanced map as far as the bases are designed. It's bi-level with an underground caving system connecting the two bases. The map would be completely symmetrical without the presence of landscape.

Remember while documenting ALL base callouts, this map is symmetrical in the fact that both bases have the same callouts. Only the possession of "red" or "blue" changes. With this in mind, most callouts as far as the bases go can be combined. For example, the Blue and Red Base can be combined on the callouts with the same number (on the legend) and/or description.

1. Blue Base/Red Base

Other Names: n/a

Photobucket The Blue Base is identified by two horned structures atop glowing blue. The Red Base has a simular structure with exception that the horns aren't glowing. Moving forward into the Blue base, through the larger shield door known as Back Door (2b), you'll walk right into a Spartan Laser. To your left, a large blue glowing orb named Ball (3b). On your right is the Stage (4b) noted by a step up, lighted barrier and a pane of honeycombed glass. The middle door from Top Mid leads us into a passageway named Blue Pass (5b), to the underground caving system. This info should be inserted with Base information, each Base has the same structural layout.

Blue Base Call-Outs

2. Purple Stack

Other Names: Blue Stack, Blue Crates, Batteries

3. Rabbit Hole

Other Names: : Powerup Tunnel, Camo

Photobucket As you look to your right, a small hill containing a tunnel and an Active Camo will appear. The tunnel is known as the Rabbit Hole.

Photobucket The area to your left with the randomly placed Spiker, lined with turrets is named Tundra. The Tundra looks like a beaten path you can follow back to Blue Base.

5. Glass

Other Names: Blue Glass

Photobucket Stepping off the Mound, we'll cross over a small ground running pipe back to Blue Base. We're approaching from the side of it which is tilted an angle which makes it easy to climb. The same honeycombed glass makes up the exterior of this part of the Blue Base, which easily identifies this area as Glass. Walk up the Glass onto the top of the base.

12. The Flat

Other Names: n/a

Photobucket Entering into a flattened area of the map from BR Side is the notably flattest area of Snowbound, which is also divided by a beaten path from Red Stack. This area, due to its geography is known as the Flat. Pushing forward on the Flat, you'll make your way to the Main Entrance of the Cave.

13. Back Door

15. Cave

Other Names: Basement, Shotty Room, Bat Cave

Top Mid is the middle most part of the map which is unfortunately given little to no cover. It stretches from the beginning of each Base across and from the Ghost back to the Cave.

19. Ghost Hangar

Other Names: The Ghost, Top Ghost

Photobucket Moving forward over the Ghost, you will approach another radio tower with two empty crates.

20. Rockside

Other Names: n/a
